Research Director (Dirigente di Ricerca) at the National Institute for Astrophysics (Italy); my main research activity has been performed in the realm of optically thin astrophysical plasmas (more specifically in the field of supernova remnants, novae, and solar and stellar coronae) and in the field of thermal and non-thermal (synchrotron) emission processes; my skills include: plasma physics, magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), computational fluid dynamics, parallel computing and high performance computing (HPC).
